Roadtrip to Tanay

May 14, 2012 § Leave a comment

Because we got bored, we went to Tanay. We find for adventure park and resorts, so we ended up at Pranjetto Hills Resort. There are many adventure resorts at Tanay, really! They were mostly on top of the mountain so be patient finding one. At first, I really thought we’re going to another place since we really drove long way at Tanay! Haha! It’s really big, I guess. 😉

Just tried my spiderman skills! Hahaha! 😀

The adventure begins here. First, we tried the long line zipline. This was not new to me (since I’ve already done this a couple of times; the best was the zipline in EAT Danao, Bohol!) except for my two cousins, Taraki (10) and Yano (4).

And yes, my little cousin Yano had zipline by himself! Brave kiddo!

Yano and Mom! 🙂

Have you ever tried the zorb? It’s a big plastic balloon wherein a person can go inside and act like a hamster! We tried Zorb in the Swimming Pool! Gosh, it’s so hot inside the balloon even though it has a big hole! We even can’t recognize if the liquid inside the balloon is our sweat or water from the pool! It was really hard to roll the balloon through the pool, it’s as if we’re running across the pool but actually we’re not moving at all! :))

The swimming pool is big, however, when you’re inside the balloon, you’ll think the pool is just small. 😉

Right after trying the zorb, we roam around the resort and accidentally trekked for a moment. We climb up and down through stairs, and saw the beauty of nature. We also trespassed a bahay kubo in the middle of the mountain and took some photos! Oops! :p

After the long trek (nah, just exaggerating), we ate our late lunch at their restaurant! Yay for bagnet and pancit! 🙂 Afterwards, we went to the famous Regina Rica, it’s a big 30-ft statue and really sacred place for Catholic devoters. You need to climb up a couple of steps before you can go to the statue. Proper attire is really observed and since we’re wearing shorts, we need to cover up. They have a short orientation below the statue before going to enter the statue. No shoes was allowed inside nor taking photographs. A sister led the prayer inside, and after it, I felt really blessed and sacred! Woah. It was a great experience! 🙂 They also sell candles for personal prayers.

We haven’t had time to check Daranak Falls, it’s also famous at Tanay! Sad. 😦 Anyway, there’s really much time for me to travel. Anyone wants to join me? Of course we’ll start short trips first! Yay!

Dream Game with E :)

February 9, 2012 § Leave a comment

February 5, 2012 ~ Day after my graduation 🙂

E and I met at Recto station for the Dream Game around two in the afternoon. We ate before watching the game at Kangaroo Jack. He ordered baby back ribs and root beer float, and roast beef for me. Their steaks were tender and really affordable. However, I didn’t like the ambiance of the restaurant.

We proceed inside the coliseum forty-five minutes before the expected start of the game. I was wrong for expecting that the big dome will have many guests for the game. I thought of sitting on the Ateneo side for a change, however we still sat on La Salle side. Aside from the veterans, I was really excited to see Maierhofer, Tang, Casio, and Yeo to play.

In front of us, someone reserved for around 6 seats for their relatives who were not yet there at around six. Someone (a guy and two girls) sat on the three seats because the place was a “free seating”. Moments have passed, the person who reserved did nothing until the relatives came. The fat guy shouted out loud and talks about ethics, the grandmother was also mad since they have visitors from the US and talks about not respecting elders. I don’t want to butt in conversations like this, but in my mind I’m siding on the three people who sat in front of me. In the first place, the one who reserved did nothing and just complained when the game about to start. Why does he not complain earlier and waited for his relatives to arrive and do the complain? Second, talking about ethics and shouting out loud, the fat guy is violating that ‘ethics’ he’s talking about. Third, when the guy (who just sat on the ‘reserved seat’) stand up, the fat guy sat on that seat. How rude! They could have just talk really calm however, he just defy his own principle of ethics. Moreover, he is so rude that he sat in front  of me that he is so big i could not see the whole court. He only thinks of himself.

I really had fun watching the game though I really don’t know the other players. La Salle players were really good! At some point, some are just really enjoying the game. Allado is really good!! He ‘tebowed’ when he faked and shot the ball.

The game started at six thirty and ended around eight thirty. There were a lot of shirts that they gave away. Sad, I didn’t have any. I was really excited when my 106 schoolmates, Chie and Jayj were part of the three-point shootout! They were good! Before going home, we bought quesadilla and beef and potato burrito from Taco Bell! 🙂 Hihi.

Feast for the Graduating!

December 20, 2011

A feast, indeed. We had a lunch buffet at Vikings, Mall of Asia together with the professors who’ve been part of our thesis making. We decided to have it all together since our specific professors are interconnected with other groups. Also, other professors joining us aside from the students will be a great help so the professors will not get bored or left out during conversations. However, since we are a big group (we are 25 people in total including the professors!), we invaded four tables that’s why we were still separated. Professors were in the same table, of course. We didn’t group according to our thesis. Oh well. We arrived there quarter to ten in the morning. I thought that we were too early but then was thankful because we have to reserve seats earlier. 🙂

Grilling station – where the yummy steak lies.

With the professors. Oops! :>

Feb 2012 graduates :>

Chubby face. Desserts! Nomnomnom. Real dessert! Really really really good! 🙂

The food was… really great. A wide variety of dishes! Appetizers, soups, dimsum, main courses, different varieties of rice, pasta, pizza, and steaks! It was my first time to eat medium rare steak. It tasted really good and the texture was awesome! Unfortunately, I had my braces adjusted the day before so my teeth aches. 😦 Frankly, I didn’t enjoy our lunch because Ma’am Dulay said I was one of the students who failed on ECESAFE. I know I can pass the subject through the grade consultation, but I felt disappointed with myself. Aside from school stuff, I’m not into the main courses served even though it tasted really good. Most of the food served were easily consumed so at some point I waited for the dish to be refilled. I love their fish fillet and sharksfin! :> I was disappointed on the tempura and its sauce. Sad. 😦 Though my teeth hurts and didn’t ate much food, overall, the lunch was great. 🙂

Thank you for all who have been part of my college life especially our thesis. Through the struggles  we have faced each time the deadline comes near, thank you still for giving us that signature we needed to pass our thesis. We may not be the best thesis group that you’ve handled, I know we gave you that semi-intense heartbeat throughout the year. Even though we just only barely passed, all thanks will be given to you and of course You. 🙂 For all the sleepless nights, crammed reports and quizzes, last minute signatures, and headaches, we were really really glad that we’re finally done in our thesis. College life is finally over. It feels like I still want more, I still want to study. Life must go on, board exam must be owned.

Photos were from Reggie and Mae. 😉

Tacsiyapo!

November 3, 2011 § 2 Comments

So here are some of the pictures of Isdaan in Calauan, Laguna. They serve really good food, however, it’s a bit pricy. They really have huge space for their restaurant perfect for kids who wants to play around while the oldies can enjoy the views, gigantic statues can also be seen inside the restaurant. They have a lot of statues in different sides of the restaurant, some of them were cartoons and some were from the history.

Tacsiyapo Wall. The famous one. Here, you can throw away mugs and plates thru the wall to express your anger or any other emotions. Of course, each ceramic must be purchase for a reasonable price.

One side of the menu card, more choices can be seen at the back of that large menu card. Browsing through their huge menu card, I can say that they serve a wide selection of yummy dishes! Aside from seafoods, they also serve poultry and other kind of dishes. 🙂

Another kind of table/dining place inside the restaurant

“Floating” Bahay Kubo

Grilling Station. They have a different grilling station for certain kinds of food. For instance, this is for pork.

You can also see other scupltures inside the restaurant. They also have cartoon sculptures and playground for the kids.

Hello. I’m a baby dinosaur!

The big buddha

A very huge restaurant with really gigantic sculptures, indeed! They have a sub-theme for every spot of their restaurant.

Dumaguete

September 25, 2011 § Leave a comment

Last year, as my birthday trip, we went to Bohol, then transferred to Cebu to visit our relatives. This year, we went to Dumaguete as my pre-birthday trip. It is a small city inside Negros Oriental in Visayas. Aside from my parents, tita Amor was of course there, Tita Joy and pretty little cousins, Joni and Joan.

Day 1

Hello Dumaguete Airport!

The guide directly brought us to Antulang Beach Resort. Unfortunately, it was raining and the waves were really high. So we stayed near the resort. We had a chance to go to the beach area, fearlessly passed through the bridge. We only stayed less than an hour at the beach because the rain and the waves were really scary. I didn’t brought my camera there because it was really dangerous. All I can say, Antulang Beach is really gorgeous.

Because we can’t stay on the beach, we decided to stay on the pool. They also have an infinity pool! 🙂

Dumaguete Express from Lab-as. Lab-as is a seafood restaurant on Dumaguete’s coastline. It is like Bicol Express. As far as I can remember, they used seafood here, and they topped it with crispy pork bits (or lechon kawali). This was the best dish I ate on my stay in Dumaguete.

Day 2

Me and Pauline (Tita Amor’s pamangkin). We stayed there going to Apo Beach. Who would have thought that the weather was really bad as we rode the boat going to Apo. Personally, I was really scared of the weather. Actually, I brought my dear laptop on the trip because I have an online exam around 1 PM. My mom borrowed a Sun Broadband USB so that I can access the internet, but the resort in the island has a DSL connection. However, there were heavy rains that’s why the DSL connection in the resort did not work, and there were no signal acquired for my broadband. Panic. Good thing my best friend is ready to help since I cannot contact my classmates. I actually asked my best friend to answer the exam for me, and she answered really good. Not bad for a non-ECE course student. 😉 I had an additional 11 points for my first quiz because of my best friend.

We had snorkeling. It was my first time to use that snorkel tube used for breathing, and my second time snorkeling.

Our very own planking. LOLJK.

My cute little cousin, Joan. 😉 She looks like me when I was that age!

Mom and Pop! ♥

High jump at Apo Beach!

Going back to the land.

Day 3

Our hotel room.

Their pastries were really good! We brought a lot of their Sansrival and Sylvannas to Manila.

Souvenir Shop. I’m sorry but I forgot the name of this place! 😦

Siliman University.

I really love this candid shot! It was like we were having a conversation on something, and I can’t remember what we were conversing.

We had our lunch at Jo’s Chicken Inato by the Sea before we go back to the airport. Bangka table is nice. 😉

View from the back of the tricycle. I’d rather sit here to watch scenery of the place.

We really had fun even though the sun only came out on our last day. Our stomach were always full every time we eat our meals. I had three big meals everyday on this trip. Good food. Good place. 😉

Conti’s

September 25, 2011 § 2 Comments

We had lunch at Conti’s, Serendra on a special day with my parents, Nicel, and Aira. It was the 25th of June this year. We browsed the menu for dishes that were something different. However, I really craved for beef. So my parents’ three kids for today ordered different dishes.

Conti’s Pastry Shop & Restaurant

With my loves, Aira and Nicel.

Pop and Mom! Sweet ♥ 😉

Roast Beef in Mushroom Sauce (P 295.00) – The sauce is good, the beef is tender. But i really don’t like and eat the tendon or ‘litid’ part. Though my tongue is satisfied for craving beef, this is not the best beef I ever tasted. Still, I’m wanting to go back to Highlands Steakhouse.

Pastel de Lengua (P 250.00) – The fact that lengua is an ox’s tongue makes me not to order it. The presentation of the food is elegant. It really looked delicious!

Chicken ala Kiev (P 250.00) – It is like a cordon bleu without the ham. The taste of the herbs inside the chicken with the cheese was really great! The creamy sauce was a delightful combination to the chicken. I wish I was the one who ordered this dish, because this was really delicious!

Mango Cheesecake (P 70.00) – Awesome. This slice of cake was enough for us as our dessert. We were really full from the main course and we are really satisfied for this single slice as our dessert.

We didn’t ordered the usual Mango Bravo slice, which is the best seller of the restaurant. We already know its taste so we tried another. We have a bloated stomach after and left the restaurant with a smile. 😉

Pan de Amerikana

My mom and I just got bored on a holiday so we called Tita Amor to ask where we could possibly go. There were many choices, but we end up going north to food trip.

Look how cool the exteriors of the place. I really don’t have an idea what kind of food they’re serving aside from the bread so I excitedly entered the restaurant. Their interior design was really great and extraordinary!

Hell yeah, they were upside down! The ambiance inside is very serene since the place is filled with plants. I feel I was like in a trellis.

And yes, they have a couple of chess sets for their customers while waiting for the food. We arrived past lunch time so there are only few people inside.

Everlasting (P 35.00 i think) – One of their best sellers. It is like an embutido that was molded in a llanera topped with boiled egg, cucumber, and tomato.

Ilokano Sarabasab (P 45.00) – It is similar to Kilawin or Kinilaw. Basically, pork and special vinegar as the main ingredient. This kind of dish is one of my favorites so I ordered another one. 😉

Pandesal fresh from their oven!

Our orders. Tinomok (P 50.00) – Upper right side. It is similar to Laing. Personally, I don’t eat laing, but it is one of the best sellers of the restaurant.

Their food was good enough to fill our hungry stomach. It was really affordable here. I think I can order 3 sets of Ilokano Sarabasab next time!

Big tummies for me and my mom! We enjoyed the ambiance of the restaurant and we had really a good time from the instance we arrived on the place. Their dishes were really good and affordable. But if you’re looking for dishes with some twist on its taste or more mouth-watering or more ‘sosyal’, I think this is not what you’re looking.
